Privacy Policy

CGP Spotlight Inc. ("we", "our", or "us") operates the CGP Mountain Climber mobile application for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use CGP Mountain Climber:

• Email address: used to create and authenticate your account
• Display name / username: set by you in your profile
• Step notes and dates: text you enter when planning or logging a step toward your goals
• Character selection: your chosen in-app character (male or female)
• Goal settings: the goals and targets you set, including monthly step goals
• Daily activity log: the water, movement and rest days you record, and the dates you record them
• Lists: any to-do or grocery items you create
• Chosen weather city: if you pin a city for the weather display, we store that city name and its coordinates
• Notification details: if you turn on reminders, we store a push notification token for your device, your device time zone, and the reminder time you choose, so that reminders arrive at the right local time

We do not collect your real name, phone number, contacts, photos, or any financial information. We do not request access to your device location. The only location information we hold is the city you choose yourself for the weather display.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To store and display your progress, step history, daily activity and lists
• To allow you to sign in across sessions
• To show the weather for the city you choose
• To send the reminders and daily messages you have turned on

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your step notes, activity log, lists and goal data are private. Only you can see them. No other users have access to your information.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

CGP Mountain Climber is free to download and offers an optional subscription, which begins with a 7 day free trial and then renews yearly until you cancel. The subscription is what unlocks the app.

Payment is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play, depending on where you installed the app. We never see, receive, or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment details. We do not hold a record of your purchase on our servers either: the app asks the App Store or Google Play directly whether your subscription is active, and keeps only that yes or no answer on your own device so it still works when you are offline.

You can view, change, or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling there is the only way to stop it renewing, and deleting the app does not cancel it.

5. Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. A small number of providers process data on our behalf, solely to operate the app:

• Supabase: hosts our database and handles account authentication
• Expo, and Apple or Google: deliver push notifications to your device. This involves your push notification token, and the content of the notification
• WeatherAPI.com: provides weather conditions. We send the city you chose. If you have not chosen a city, your device's IP address is used once to estimate an approximate location so we can show local weather. We do not store your IP address

6. Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app under Account → Delete My Data. This permanently removes your account and all of your data, including your profile, step history, notes, daily activity log, lists and notification settings.

7. Children's Privacy

CGP Mountain Climber is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
